MYCO-TER CREAM

Terbinafine hydrochloride Cream 

Composition:

Terbinafine hydrochloride B.P.1% w/w

Cream base…..q.s.

Description:

Terbinafine is an allylamine derivative reported to have a broad spectrum of antifungal activity. It is considered to act through inhibition of fungal sterol synthesis. Terbinafine is fungicidal against dermatophytes, moulds and certain dimorphic fungi and some yeasts.

Indications:

Myco-Ter is indicated in the treatment of the following conditions in adults and children:

  • Fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton sp.
  • Yeast infections of the skin, principally those caused by the genus Candida.
  • Pityriasis versicolor due to Pityrosporum orbiculare, P.Ovale(Melassaezia furfur).

Dosage and administration:

Myco-Ter cream  can be applied as a thin layer over the affected area once or twice daily:

In Tinea pedis, Tinea cruris, Tinea corporis apply Myco-Ter for 1 week.

 In Cutaneous candidiasis, Pityriasis versicolor apply Myco-Ter for 2 weeks.

Contraindications:

Myco-Ter is contraindicated in individuals hypersensitive to terbinafine or any other ingredient of this formulation.
