MICO-BIO CREAM 

Composition:

Miconazole Nitrate USP  2% w/w

Description:

Miconazole nitrate is a synthetic broad-spectrum anti-fungal agent, which inhibits the growth of the common dermatophytes, Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Epidermophyton floccosum; the yeast-like fungus, Candida albicans; and the organism responsible for tinea versicolor- Malassezia furfur.

Indications:      

Miconazole Cream is indicated in the treatment of tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea pedis (athlete‘s foot), tinea mannum, tinea cruris, tinea barbae, onychomycosis, pityriasis versicolor, cutaneous and vulvovaginal candidiasis, and candidosis of the skin and nails.

 Dosage and administration:

Sufficient Miconazole Cream should be applied to cover the affected areas twice daily (morning and evening). Candida infections as well as tinea cruris and corporis should be treated for 2 weeks, and tinea pedis for 1 month in order to reduce the possibility of recurrence. Patients with tinea versicolor usually exhibit clinical and mycological clearing after 2 weeks of treatment.

 Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
