Description:

Vitamins are essential for the maintenance of normal metabolic functions. The water soluble vitamins of the B complex group play a part in the metabolism of carbohydrates, alcohol and branched chain amino acids, a vital role in cellular oxidation and in the synthesis of DNA and the fatty acids in myelin. Ascorbic acid is necessary for collagen formation, tissue repair in the body and may be involved in some oxidation-reduction reactions. It is also involved in the utilization of carbohydrates, synthesis of lipids and proteins and the preservation of blood vessel integrity. Folic acid is necessary for normal erythropoiesis and nucleoprotein synthesis. Zinc is useful when there is dietary deficiency or malabsorption and when there is increased body loss of zinc which occurs following trauma and burns. Chromium is important in the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates and insulin.

Biotrat capsule is indicated in conditions in which there is a need for vitamin supplementation. Vitamin deficiencies may be associated with restricted diets, improper food intake, decreased absorption and prolonged stress, infections or chronic fevers, following burns and trauma.
